SUMMARY:

Prepare and cook high quality hot and cold foods for regular and modified diets for residents, guests, and employees of the facility in accordance with the Ohio Department of Health Rules and Regulations and the standards set forth by the facility by performing the following duties.

Maintain Rights of Residents as set forth by the Ohio Department of Health Laws and Regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned with or without reasonable accommodations.

Knowledgeable of and utilizes a variety of cooking and food preparation equipment and techniques.

Adjusts recipes to yield the required number of servings if necessary.

Tests recipes and recommends changes in recipes.

Prepares and cooks food in batches maintaining high quality and appeal.

Portions food accurately.

Inspects food and food preparation to maintain quality standards, temperature standards, and sanitation regulations.

Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition. Cleans up after preparation of foods.

Complies with the Department of Health regulations, as well as the facility’s policies and procedures for food handling and storage.

Reports to work as scheduled in a clean, neat uniform.

Supervises food service aides as assigned.

Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.

Garnishes and decorates dishes preparatory to serving to enhance presentation.

Knowledgeable of simple food regimens and basic modified diets in regard to individual resident nutritional needs.

Attends educational training/in-services as required.

Performs other related dietary tasks as assigned.

Knowledgeable of and implements all safety, universal precautions, and Company policies/procedures for the protection of residents, coworkers, and self.
